Education Keynote & Seminar

Educational Keynote Presentation

Title – “Awakening Voices in the Classroom

ClassroomDuring this keynote, teachers are swept away by mesmerizing character portrayals, breathtaking a cappella music, and powerful stories of people whose lives were dramatically altered by a teacher. Teachers walk away deeply energized and motivated at a root level by the best teaching practices they hear about and witness during this keynote presentation.

The best teaching practices depicted in this keynote are in the form of behaviors and paradigms. When teachers use these behaviors and paradigms, they initiate parts of a continuous death and rebirth cycle within themselves, within their students and within their classrooms. This continuous cycle is central to the permanent awakening process that is Rebekah’s mission and includes: death of outdated behaviors, paradigms, identities, and relationships, discovery of the teachers’ and students’ authentic voice, gifts, identities, passions and purposes, and a refocusing and designing of the classroom, teachers and students based on these discoveries.

As a result of this continuous cycle, teachers become courageously accountable for creating classrooms where vitality, creativity and productivity are continuously increasing and these increased levels are able to be maintained on more and more of a permanent basis.

Debriefing Session following “Awakening Voices in the Classroom
(This makes an ideal 2 hour break-out session after the performance of this keynote)

This debriefing session gives teachers the opportunity to:

1) Verbalize, process and reinforce what they experienced and learned while watching the keynote

2) Be challenged to practically apply the behaviors and paradigms in the keynote to themselves, to their students and to their classrooms

3) Learn new best teaching practices based on the character portrayals that are in the form of behaviors and paradigms. When teachers use the behaviors and paradigms they learn in this debriefing session, they initiate parts of a continuous death and rebirth cycle within themselves, within their students and within their classrooms.

The behaviors and paradigms support teachers so they are better able to:

A) Balance their identity as the expert in their subject areas, with a classroom culture that draws out and helps the students trust ‘their’ authentic voice, gifts, identities, passions and purposes

B) Model to the students what it looks like to form genuine partnerships with others

C) Expand the students’ capacity to look beyond their individual lives and into the lives of others

D) Become more courageously accountable for creating classrooms where vitality, creativity and productivity are continuously being increased and maintained on more and more of a permanent basis

This keynote, debriefing session and one-day teacher leadership development seminar are ideal for teachers and professors in:

  • Public and private schools
  • Universities and colleges

Title – “Creating Awakening for Your Classroom

Typically one full day

This one-day seminar can:

  • Follow Rebekah’s powerful keynote “Awakening Voices in the Classroom” as one full day of break-out sessions at your educational event or conference
  • Stand-alone as a one day seminar at your school or at a retreat location

Purpose: A leadership development seminar that provides teachers with tools they can use in the classroom that equip students to compete in the marketplace through original thinking, innovation, and becoming a visionary. The tools are quick and can easily be integrated and applied to the most stringent of classroom environments, even if the majority of classroom time must be spent on required curriculum. The tools help teachers create environments within their classrooms that promote critical thinking, compassion, creativity, community, curiosity, thinking outside the box and seeing the big picture. The tools instigate parts of a death and rebirth cycle within teachers, students and classrooms. This cycle is central to the permanent awakening process that is Rebekah’s mission and includes: death of outdated behaviors, paradigms, identities, and relationships, discovery of the teachers’ and students’ authentic voice, gifts, identities, passions and purposes, and a refocusing and designing of the classroom, teachers and students based on these discoveries. This one day leadership development seminar helps teachers become more courageously accountable for increasing and maintaining vitality, creativity and productivity within their classrooms.

Book Chapter Workshops

2 hours in length

These workshops are based on the chapters in Rebekah’s book, Awakening – 12 Tools to Unlock Ultimate Potential. Most teachers deeply want to create and maintain classrooms that are vital, creative and productive. However, they are often burned out and in need of rejuvenation and renewal themselves. Therefore, creating vital classrooms can be a difficult task. The book chapter workshops are designed to instigate a continuous death and rebirth cycle within teachers. This continuous cycle is central to the permanent awakening process that is Rebekah’s mission and includes: death of outdated behaviors, paradigms, identities, and relationships, discovery of the teacher’s authentic voice, gifts, identities, passions and purposes, and a refocusing and designing of the teacher’s life based on these discoveries. This continuous cycle creates deep rejuvenation and renewal within teachers. They become better able to continuously increase and maintain their personal and professional levels of vitality, creativity, productivity and accountability. This occurs on more and more of a permanent basis. The positive effects of this deep rejuvenation and renewal can spread to a teacher’s students and permeate their classrooms.

A personal message from Rebekah to educators:

The benefits that are possible through this keynote, debriefing session and one-day teacher leadership development seminar have global implications. If we prepare our students to open themselves up to being better able to genuinely hear, respect and honor their and others’ authentic voice, gifts, identities, passions and purposes, we are modeling a leadership style that is not about any one person’s or any one country’s ability to be the expert. This model supports and encourages everyone to rise up and take ownership and leadership. This creates true partnerships and increases the possibilities for global harmony.

The children, teenagers and adults you teach in your classrooms are our nation’s hope for the future. Teachers are on the front lines of shaping our country’s most important assets. Teachers are often burned out with all of their requirements. While one keynote, one debriefing session and one seminar will not come close to solving all the issues surrounding this burnout, I offer you a well-deserved ray of light. This light can occasionally pierce through the overload and give you some hope.

Thank you for everything you do every day,
Rebekah
